Using a Coco Coir Disc Seed Starting System

• Spread out the coco coir discs. To use coir discs for seedling germination, immerse the dry flat disc in water. Place the discs in a watertight tray. Make sure the little, imprinted hole is pointing upward. Pour water over the discs and allow them to expand.
• Sow the seeds. Once the coco coir discs have fully inflated, insert two seeds in each pellet. Planting depth may be adjusted by pinching or compacting the pellet. Label the tray to make it easier to identify the seedlings. To maintain moisture, cover with a transparent plastic lid or plastic wrap.
• Provide light. Place the trays under grow lights or near a brightly lit window. Maintain an equal moisture level in the pellets while the seeds grow. Adding a little water to the bottom of the tray once a day is typically enough.
• Once the seeds have germinated and the cotyledons have opened, remove the plastic cover. Continue to water the pellets once a day to ensure consistent moisture distribution.
• Provide nutrition. By the time the seedlings have their second or third set of genuine leaves, the roots have typically penetrated the netting. For tall, healthy transplants, fertilize now or put seedlings, coco coir discs, and all in a tiny pot.
• Transplant the seedlings. When the seedlings are ready for transplanting, harden them off. Coir discs can be planted immediately in the garden.
